The theme
Beyond five:creating Africa’snext big story
Five years ago Bloom was an idea and a group chat. Today it is a team, a body of work, and a stake in what African media becomes next. That is worth marking properly.
So we are not sitting down to dinner this year. We are lacing up. Same game, different court — the same people, the same appetite for winning, moved onto a field where everybody starts level and nobody gets to hide behind a job title.
One day. Four teams. Nine events. Whoever leaves with the trophy leaves with a year of bragging rights, and the rest of us leave with the only thing that ever really mattered here: the story we tell about it afterwards.

Nine waysto win it
Every event carries points toward one leaderboard. Turn up for one, turn up for all nine — but the team that spreads itself widest usually lifts the trophy.

The headline event. Group stage into knockouts, ninety seconds of extra time and no VAR.

The kit
Everybodygets a jersey
Athlete or supporter, you leave with the kit. It is yours to keep — and the only thing you need to bring is the right size and a decent pair of trainers.

Before you turn up
Questions
No. Every team needs a bench, a cheer squad and someone holding the cooler. Register as a supporter and you still get the kit, the food and the bragging rights.
You do not pick, and you will not know in advance. Teams are drawn on the day — you get your colour when you collect your kit at accreditation. That way nobody gets to stack a side ahead of time.
Your Bloom Olympics jersey and your team colour band — both handed out at accreditation — plus your own shorts or joggers and proper trainers. No slides on the track, however good they look.
Yes. Partners and children are welcome and there is a shaded family zone beside the food village. Please add their names when you register so we get the numbers right.
Breakfast on arrival, lunch at halftime, and small chops all afternoon. Vegetarian and halal options are available — tell us when you register.
The court and indoor events carry on regardless. Field events shift later in the day, and if the weather is truly against us we move to the covered arena on the same site.
